Cultural Wellness
Courses and Workshops for Embodied Cultural Wellness
Queer Directions Learning Center hosts learning spaces for tending cultural wellness through intuitive healing arts, nature connection and ancestral connection.
As an important part of building better allyship and more resilient justice movements, our work seeks to revive living ancestral culture for all people. With ancestral culture as a key resource, we create spaces to process pain, grief, trauma, offering practices that support healing from the impacts of colonization.
Our Vision
Our work is grounded in service and connection to justice for the land and its original peoples. With all of our content, we intend to deepen relationship with movements of decolonization. Connection to our personal ancestries roots and strengthens our practices of solidarity and connection to land and peoples indigenous to this place. Portions of all of our profits go to support the local indigenous-led food sovereignty work.
Colonization attempted to erase magic, traditional culture and language, queerness, and everything in the unseen. Our approach to liberation engages place-based solidarity and seeks to dismantle current colonial culture within ourselves and our communities. In the spaces we create, we value embodied learning; nature and non-human connection; queering bodies; and shame-free explorations. Our learning chambers hold and cultivate the complexity of our wholeness.
